5 Pillars of Islam

Islam is a complete code of life that helps and guides in every step of life. Islam is based on five pillars. These are as follow

1-Kalima-e-Shahadah:


Kalima-e-Shahadah:


Translation:
“I bear witness that (there is) no god except Allah; One is He, no partner hath He, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.”

2- To offer prayer five times a day:


Salah (nimaz) is the second pillar of Islam and occupies a superior position in the religion of peace. Its performance is the primary duty of every Muslim after he has brought faith in the Oneness of Allah Almighty and the Prophet Hood of His Holy Messenger, Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H). It is a most special act of Divine worship which he is called upon to perform five times daily without fail.

Ahadess about Salah (nimaz):


There are many Ahadees regarding salah  some are;

The Special Rank of “Prayers”
“The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his progeny) said: “The first thing that Allah made obligatory upon my Ummah was the five prayers; and the first thing from their acts of worship that shall be taken up will be the five prayers; and the first thing that they will be questioned about will be the five prayers.Kanzul-Ummal-Volume-7-Tradition-18859


A Means of “Salvation”
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his progeny) said: “One who adheres to the five (daily) prayers diligently, they shall be a means of illumination and salvation for him on the Day of Judgment.”Kanzul-Ummal-Volume-7-Tradition-18862



Illumination of the Heart
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his progeny) has said: “The prayer of a person is (in reality) a light in his heart, so whoever desires, can illuminate his heart (by means of prayers).”Kanzul-Ummal-Volume7-Tradition-18973


3- To pay Zakah: (obligatory charity in case one is rich and wealthy):


The literally meaning of Zakat is to cleanse, to grow and to increase. It is a pillar of Islam. Zakat is obligatory for, who has certain amount of wealth out of which he required to pay a specific portion. It is very blissful to pay Zakat for one gets tremendous reward for that in the hereafter. Negligence of this part of Islam is a major sin. There are the numbers of verses of the Quran which speak about prayer and Zakat altogether and highlight their importance. It is an oftrepeated verse of the Quran.

“Establish prayers and pay Zakat”

The Prophet (PBUH) has said:
"God has made Zakat obligatory simply to purify your remaining property"

4-To Fast during the month of Ramadhan:


The third pillar id “Fast” ,Fasting is similar to Namaz and is Farz-e-Ain and those who refuse to believe it as obligatory [Farz] is a “Kafir”(nonbeliever) and those who fail to notice it without authentic reason are big sinner and will receive punishment in hell on the day of judgement. Fasting for the whole month of Ramadan is obligatory for a Muslim

5-To perform Hajj (Pilgrimage) once in life if one is enough to bear its travel expenses:


Pilgrimage is the fifth pillar of Islam.Is is also mandatory for a Muslim to perform Hajj if he has enough wealth to bear its expanses.

6. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he heard Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say,

"Whoever performs Hajj and does not commit any obscenity or transgression shall return [free from sins] as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him."
[Saheeh-Al-Bukhari]



It if Kufr (unbelief) to decry any of these five pillars of Islam.
